Due to unforeseen circumstances, Swaati  is not able to perform at Champion Sound Live on 8 May as previously advertised. In replacement  local resident artists Layla Tutt will be joining us on stage.

Champion Sound Live presents the Best of British New Music Showcase with Layla Tutt.

An exciting line-up of artists has been revealed for Shaanti’s Eastern Electronic Festival’s New Music Showcase at Town Hall Symphony. Champion Sound Live present the Best of British, a music extravaganza, featuring live music during May.

Showcasing the best unsigned and newly-signed talent to the UK’s music industry. This is a platform for talented individuals from an eclectic mix of musical genres and styles.

Inspired by Old Grey Whistle tests and Woodstock festivals, Layla Tutt is a skilful songstress, fashioning tunes to groove to, tunes to move you. A lover of assonance and dissonance, she is thrilled by rhyme and rhythm; the sound of the words on the lips; the dirty, rusty notes that poke out at you, stick out at you.

It’s the hand that dances the one to watch. With her distinctive percussive ‘strum and bass’ style; ferocious, driving guitar strings and haunting, ethereal vocals she’ll pluck and pull at the heartstrings, spark up the spirit and soothe the soul. Lines will linger and melodies will remain on the tips of your tongues.

Standing apart from the crowd, Layla Tutt, batik artist and musician, front woman of Birmingham based three-piece ‘Phlox of Pink’ is currently going solo. ‘Life is a canvas to make as colourful as you choose’ and I wish to share my art forms with lovers, believers and dream-weavers for the sake of beauty, magic and good old-fashioned fun…

Expect original musical interpretations live at Symphony Hall, with a post-show conversation with Layla herself.
