With the rise of experimentation in Bollywood and rock, we have recently witnessed the rise of a pioneering electronic music subculture via Pakistan. The story of electronic music made a definitive impact on Pakistan in the new millennium, just like it did in Germany in the 1970s; in the UK and US, and Japan in the 1980s, thereafter transmitting its sound from India to Beijing. Pakistani DJs and bands have come of age, delivering an overabundance of styles ranging from House, Minimal, Drum & Bass and Break-Beats to Underground Urban audiences and in recent years, international-collaborations between producers and musicians here in the UK. Born out of a need to break traditions, Pakistani Electronica will also be seen more in the mainstream as it grows in the near future. Here we seek to champion artists of the new future, EDM fans and lovers looking to experience something different would do well to check Electro-Stani out!
